Professional Bio

Mark’s passion in life is to be happy and strive for self actualization for both himself and the people he comes into contact with. He believes that “work” is a fantastic platform by which to change the world and has always tried to bring passion and purpose to his own work. Mark believes that his own personal happiness and self actualization is achieved when he:

  • Can identify with his life’s purpose and bring meaning to his life, i.e. live life on purpose
  • Feels connected to people, building positive relationships and a sense of community
  • Believes he is in control of his own destiny and sees that what he is doing is in line with his purpose
  • Believes that he is making progress toward achieving his goals, i.e. He can measure his own progress

Common threads of innovation, creativity,  and a desire to be happy at work have woven themselves through the tapestry of Mark’s work life. In 2006, he became a certified coach and a master practitioner of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and used these skills to work with companies to find their purpose, identify their unique and ideal culture, and cultivate values to drive employee behaviors and realize this culture.

Today, Mark is an Advisor or “Cheer Leader” for Delivering Happiness and is primarily the CEO or “Community Actualizer” for DTP Ventures supporting Tony Hsieh and Fred Mossler to actualize the purpose of making downtown Vegas a place of Inspiration, Entrepreneurial Energy, Creativity, Innovation, Upward Mobility, and Discovery, through the 3 C’s of Collisions, Co-learning, and Connectedness in a long-term, sustainable way.

Mark has a beautiful wife and two amazing kids that also play a big part in his life and give him countless opportunities to grow as a human being and ensure that he am focused on achieving work-life integration.

  • As a happy Aussie, Mark loves the Bolton Wanderers Football Club, and has been a season ticket holder since the age of 4.
  • He speaks three different dialects of English: British English, Australian, and American.
  • Mark once worked as a DJ and was known as DJ Delicious.

Mark is inspired by a desire to live as many happy years as he can. Folks he finds inspirational include: Viktor Frankl, Jay Forrester, Abraham Maslow, and his father.
